WHAT IS THE WORKSHOP ABOUT?
This workshop is ideal for people who have an idea, or the beginning of an idea.
During the workshop Cheryl May, an Advisor on Social Enterprise at MaRS, and Dev Aujla, Founder and Executive Director of DreamNow, will help you flesh out your idea and create a flexible, yet ambitious 3 month timeline to explore and evolve your idea.
Think of how much farther along your idea will be by December 30th, 2009!
You can expect to gain the following from this workshop:
- feedback on your idea and concrete steps to move forward
- an introduction to core areas and principles of social entrepreneurship
- an opportunity to meet and work with other innovative and ambitious young people
WHO IS FACILITATING THE WORKSHOP?
- Cheryl May, an Advisor on SocialEntrepreneurship at MaRS Discovery District, has over 20 years of development experience, including as founder and president of a retail/wholesale business; producing and directing for the theatre; and as a columnist for the Toronto Sun. Throughout her career, Cheryl has mentored hundreds of people with great ideas.
- Dev Aujla is the Founder and Executive Director of DreamNow, a charitable organization that brings together people, raises money and plans for the growth of ideas. DreamNow was also responsible for the research and writing of Occupation: Change the World which answers the question: How can people in their twenties and thirties, find a balance between the lifestyle they desire, the career they want and the change they want to invoke in this world?
